Paws & Stretch by ‘roy’

  1. Dr. Doyle forsook medicine to write.
And he soon found Holmes to be trite.
    But one hundred years later
    These stories are much greater,
Than any other of his works one might cite.

  2. Gregson and Lestrade would clash.
    The Jones’ work was slapdash.
They would fall on their faces
    Investigating cases,
That Holmes would solve in a flash.

  3. Hail to Watson, so loyal.
    Steadfast through all the turmoil.
    Gracious, unbendable,
    Faithful and dependable
    Like Boswell, a perfect foil.

  4. Mrs. Hudson, long suffering, I feel,
Had a constitution made of pure steel
    Having Holmes, London’s worst tenant-
    Inconsiderate and unrepentant
    Did remuneration prolong the deal?

  5. For the law Moriarty had no care.
As a genius he was truly most rare.
    Were the techniques he employed
    Studying the asteroid
    The basis of e=mc square?

  6. To Holmes “the woman” was Irene
Did he wish to make her his queen?
    Alas he never mentions
    His actual intentions
Since she married and left the scene.

  7. Mycroft was excessively bright.
    His routine was extremely tight.
From his Whitehall offices every day,
Then the Diogenes Club on the way,
To his rooms at Pall Mall for the night.

  8. Toby was a draghound of note.
He tracked, it seemed, almost by rote.
    But one time he failed
    When he was derailed
By a large keg of creosote.
