Dear Dr. Huxtable,
I am amazed at this coincidence. When did you get those letters of
Sigismond?
For generations, there has been this old bundle of letters in my family,
that was passed on from mother to daugther as a reminder of the true
nature of sovereigns.
Now that I have read the letters that Sigismond
wrote to Irene Adler, everything falls into place. I do not want to keep
this female part of the correspondence from you.

Answer to Letter #1
Dear Sir,
I was deeply touched by your kind letter, in which you deigned to praise
my humble voice. I am grateful for this gift that god and providence
bestowed upon me, if only for the reason that it did bring you such joy
as you described. I will gladly accept the dinner invitation from such a
learned music lover as your Highness.
Yours respectfully,
Irene Adler

Answer to Letter #2
Dear Sigismond,
you say that my presence was like champagne to you. Let me reciprocate
and tell you, that I too cherished your company, as one does an
excellent and mature Chateau Petrus. I was delighted in your interest in
my travels. Your manly "roar", as you so humbly called it, felt like
a fresh breeze to me after all the feeble titter that these mincing boys
surrounding me dare to call laughter. I am looking forward to
deepening our conversation about music...

Answer to Letter #3
Sigismond,
indeed - last night we tasted the pleasures of heaven. Never before did
I climb the heights of passion and abandon as I did with you. Your
strong body and skillful hands made me forget that there are other men
in this world. I could see myself mirrored in your eyes. Yes, devour me
with your love and I could almost - just almost - sacrifice my
independence to you.
Passionately yours,
Irene

Answer to Letter #4
Sigismond,
I do not trust my eyes. Marry at your level? Do you consider me to be
beneath you? Shame on you, you who pretended to worship the ground I
tread on, who told me that he was not worth lacing my boots. Empty words
and nothing more... You want a bed of passion? A bed of full-grown
nettles is all you will get from me.
Irene Adler
P.S. I will keep those letters as a bitter-sweet reminder of the fickle
nature of men

Answer to Letter #5
Your Highness,
yes, I am still a woman and I rejoice in my female nature if to be male
is to betray.
You speak of noble loyalty and and duty. Pah! Coward I say, coward!
You threaten me to crack my teeth with your crop? But I will not hide.
Come, come and dare to look me in the face. Then it will not be my teeth
that crack, but your fickle and treacherous heart. Never will I return
your letters and the photograph to you. It will serve me as a safeguard
against any dark plans you may harbour against me. And on the day that
you will share the marriage bed of dry and bloodless Clothilde, it will
be my wedding gift to your people. May they all see what a noble and
royal personage their King is...
